WMA centered around an Army Corps reservoir with a luxury resort across lake. There is a gated road through the stand and a gasline cut. Noise from boats and across the lake.;Old growth oak forest with abundant windfall in various stages of decomposition. Downfall is parallel to slope. Dominance by black and chestnut oak in canopy with beech, hickory, and white oak in subcanopy. Depauperate herb and shrub layers probably due, in part, to heavy deer herbivory. Most of largest trees are on the ground. Shallow rooting on erodable soils may contribute to premature canopy mortality.

Small stand of remnent old growth-placed to include a couple larger trees and to provide a contrasting aspect to other plots in stand.
